At RxBB, we believe advocacy is just as critical as innovation. That belief came to life last week when our cofounder, Dr. Parth Parikh, represented the Indian Pharmacists Association (IPA) and California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) at the California State Capitol to champion Senate Bill 41 (SB 41).
SB 41 is more than just legislation—it’s a direct challenge to the harmful practices of Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) that have long strained independent pharmacies. This bill aims to restore fairness, transparency, and viability to the pharmacy ecosystem.
Dr. Parikh’s day started at 7:30 AM with a flight to Sacramento. What followed was an 11-hour wait with fellow advocates, as more than 200 bills were heard before SB 41 was finally called at 8:00 PM. Yet the energy and purpose never wavered.
Throughout the day, Dr. Parikh stood side by side with CPhA leaders, lobbyists, pharmacy students, and over 30 medical organizations—all united in their commitment to support independent pharmacists. The opposition, including PCMA and major health plans, was vastly outnumbered by over 40 organizations backing the bill.
This moment wasn’t just about policy; it was about principle. It was a reminder that real change requires both presence and persistence. Senators worked tirelessly, reviewing every bill with diligence, while our community showed up with unmatched solidarity.
Dr. Parikh’s leadership reflects the core of RxBB’s mission: to amplify independent voices, break down systemic barriers, and build tools that empower pharmacies to operate with freedom and strength.
We want every independent pharmacy to know—RxBB is more than a technology partner. We’re on the ground, in the hearings, and at the table fighting for your future.
